Blinds or Curtains?

Struggling with how to dress your windows? Can't decide on a blind or curtain?

Choosing the right curtain or blind for your window.

Window size and décor is key in knowing how to dress your window correctly. Smaller windows often become swamped by curtains so a blind can be ideal, long sash windows embrace curtains, exaggerating the length of the window and ceiling height, often giving a luxurious finish, however getting it just right is paramount.

Firstly it greatly depends on the room, kitchens and bathrooms are definitely more suited to blinds, either Roller, Roman or Venetian, taking up little space and often allowing maximum light to filter through.

Curtains offer a more luxurious and inviting look to a room, they are also far superior at insulating and keeping in the warmth during colder months and also help in keeping rooms cooler during the summer.

Blinds are more minimalistic, allowing greater filtration of light and giving you several options and great versatility, options of having the blind slightly raised, raised half way or completely up or down. Although blinds can make a room seem less inviting choosing the right finish fabric and finish can impact greatly on the final result. Slightly padded roman blinds complete with a bobble fringe or tassel can add warmth and softness to any room, or why not complement this look by adding a padded upholstered pelmet.
